Production. The accurate general wording is: “The production process includes control of raw-material quality and finished-product safety.” Do not state that all production equipment used by Karelbiotech LLC is made of food-grade stainless steel.
Laboratory documents. The public reports describe test results for the examined samples. They must not be presented as universal certification or unconditional proof of conformity for every batch. The quality passport and accompanying documents for the specific batch take priority.
Product figures. Product-wide statements use the guaranteed TU limits: crude protein not less than 22% and crude fat not less than 15%. Figures such as 25.5% protein, 21.25% fat and other exact analytical results are specific to an examined sample.
Measurement by mass. The former reference bulk density of 0.5 kg/l is not confirmed by the current 2026 documents. Do not use a universal spoon conversion; scales are preferred for dosing.
Marketing wording. Avoid claims such as “chemical-free” or “a unique technology guarantees safety”, and do not guarantee increased appetite, productivity, immunity or a therapeutic effect.
Directions for use. The current application pages cover eleven approved variants for poultry, cattle, rabbits, pigs, goats and sheep. Fish and other aquaculture species appear in the science section as research context, not as a separate current HermetiaVit label direction.

3.1. Role in the ration
HermetiaVit returns an insect-derived feed component to a practical dry format that is easy to store, measure and mix. Poultry and omnivorous animals naturally seek insects. Grazing cattle, goats and sheep also consume insects together with forage. This biological context explains the interest in black soldier fly larvae as feed material; it does not mean that the product replaces a balanced ration.
The product is designed to complement the feeding programme with animal-origin protein, fat and other naturally occurring fractions of the larvae raw material. The exact effect in a herd, flock or individual animal depends on the basal diet, actual inclusion level, age, health, housing, management and other factors.
3.2. Current and historical status
The current HermetiaVit is handled as a feed protein product. The historical Declaration of Conformity No. РОСС RU Д-RU.РА01.В.39422/24 referred to the former description “HermetiaVit protein-and-vitamin feed additive”. The manufacturer voluntarily withdrew that declaration; it has been invalid since 25 August 2026. A former printed expiry date must not be presented as its current validity date.
No new declaration was issued for the current feed product under the handling scheme adopted by the manufacturer. This statement describes the current documentary position; it is not a general legal conclusion for every product containing insect material.
3.3. What must not be confused
HermetiaVit is not identical to whole fresh larvae, whole dried larvae, full-fat larvae meal, defatted larvae meal, isolated black soldier fly fat, chitin, chitosan, peptide preparations or frass.

5.2. What each document supports
The technical specification defines the product and controlled parameters. Laboratory reports describe the sample submitted for testing and the methods and results in that report. A batch passport or specification is the appropriate source for the actual batch supplied to a customer. None of these documents, by itself, is a controlled feeding trial proving productivity, prevention or therapeutic effects.

The public description gives the material basis of the product. Exact component proportions, recipe, processing sequence and some technology parameters are the manufacturer's production information and are not published. HermetiaVit is a dry feed mixture based on meal or crushed material from dried black soldier fly larvae (Hermetia illucens) and crushed wheat or a grain base. The insect component naturally contains protein, fat, amino acids, fatty acids, mineral material, chitin-containing structures and peptide fractions. The grain base contributes to the physical and nutritional properties of the finished feed product.
6.2. Substances not intentionally added
According to the approved product description, no antibiotics, hormonal substances, preservatives, flavourings or colourants are added during manufacture. This statement must not be expanded into a claim that the product treats disease or replaces antimicrobial therapy.

In the Kaskad report dated 25 June 2026, the tested sample had moisture 6.1%, crude protein 25.5%, crude fat 21.25%, crude fibre 3.6% and crude ash 3.6%.
In the FGBI ARRIAH reports dated 11 August 2026, the tested sample had moisture 3.4%, crude protein 22.13 ± 0.94% and crude fat 23.11 ± 1.53%.
These are results for submitted samples, not permanent exact values promised for every batch. For a particular delivery, use its quality passport, specification and accompanying documentation.
6.5. Historical analytical information
Earlier materials may contain a broader nutrient, amino-acid or mineral profile for a tested HermetiaVit sample. Such data can describe that sample and help explain the nutritional interest of the raw material. They must not be presented as a fixed guaranteed profile of every current batch unless the applicable technical specification or batch document states so.
7. Biological rationale
7.1. Insects as a natural feed component
Birds and omnivorous animals actively seek insects in natural conditions. Grazing ruminants also consume insects incidentally with plants. The black soldier fly has attracted feed research because its larvae combine protein, fat, amino acids, fatty acids and other fractions in a compact biomass that can be dried and incorporated into formulated diets.
7.2. Why low or moderate inclusion can be meaningful
A biologically interesting ingredient does not have to replace the entire protein or energy component of a ration. Many studies examine low, moderate or targeted inclusion. Some higher-inclusion studies also report positive results. The relevant interpretation is dose-specific: more ingredient does not automatically produce a proportionally stronger response, and unnecessarily high inclusion may be economically less attractive.
For HermetiaVit, use the current label or a ration calculated by a livestock nutritionist or veterinarian. Research inclusion levels are scientific context, not an alternative label instruction.

9.2. Gradual introduction
Introduce the product gradually, normally over 5–10 days. A practical progression used on the product pages is approximately 25% of the intended amount on days 1–2, 50% on days 3–4, 75% on days 5–6 and the full selected amount from day 7, provided feed intake and general condition remain normal. This is an introduction pattern, not permission to exceed the final label dose.
9.3. How to feed
Calculate percentage doses from the mass of feed actually offered.
Mix the product evenly with the usual feed, compound feed, grain mixture or another suitable ration component.
Do not offer HermetiaVit as a replacement for the complete ration.
Maintain constant access to clean drinking water.
Observe feed intake, behaviour, faeces and general condition during introduction.
For young, pregnant, lactating, high-producing or clinically compromised animals, or for complex commercial rations, coordinate the programme with a livestock nutritionist or veterinarian.
9.4. Measuring accurately
Use scales for dosing. The current 2026 documents do not confirm a universal bulk density for HermetiaVit, and packing density may vary between batches. A fixed conversion from grams to household spoons should therefore not be used.
9.5. Why not simply increase the amount
In many studies, raising the amount of a black soldier fly ingredient beyond a sufficient level did not add a significant benefit, while the higher dose was less economically justified. Other studies report useful results at higher inclusion levels under their own formulations and conditions. This is why the practical recommendation is to follow the current instruction or a ration prepared by a livestock nutritionist or veterinarian, rather than assuming that more must be better.
10. Safety, storage and limits
10.1. Product boundaries
HermetiaVit is a feed product. It does not diagnose, treat or prevent disease and does not replace veterinary care. It is not an antibiotic, vaccine or hormone product. Scientific discussion of antimicrobial peptides, microbiota, immune indicators or stress markers must not be translated into a medicinal claim.
10.2. Safe use within a feeding programme
Use the correct variant, label dose, gradual introduction and suitable basal ration. Consider other supplements already present in the feed so that the complete diet remains nutritionally coherent. If an animal is unwell, has persistent digestive disturbance, refuses feed or shows another concerning sign, stop relying on feed adjustment alone and consult a veterinarian.
Laboratory reports support the analysed safety and quality parameters of the tested samples. The source base also records the absence of ruminant protein in the relevant testing context. This must be described only within the scope of the report and must not be expanded into an unlimited safety guarantee.
10.3. Storage
Store in a dry place protected from light at a temperature not exceeding +25 °C. After opening, close the packaging tightly. Protect from moisture. Shelf life is 6 months from manufacture, subject to the label and batch documents.
10.4. Do not use the product if
mould is visible;
there is a musty, putrid or rancid odour;
the material is wet or shows signs of water ingress;
pests, foreign matter or contamination are present;
the appearance has changed sharply in a way that may indicate deterioration;
the package or batch status makes identity or safe storage uncertain.

11.1. What the science explains
Scientific literature explains why Hermetia illucens is of interest as feed raw material. Studies investigate its protein and amino-acid value, fat and fatty-acid profile, mineral and chitin-containing fractions, peptide fractions, palatability, feed efficiency, productivity, product quality, digestive indices, microbiota, immune and antioxidant indicators, and sustainability or economic aspects.
The scientifically correct unit of interpretation is the actual material studied: whole larvae, dried larvae, full-fat meal, defatted meal, protein concentrate, larvae fat, chitin, chitosan, a peptide fraction, frass, milk replacer or a complete experimental diet. These are not interchangeable.
11.2. Evidence levels
Direct documentary relevance: an applicable HermetiaVit technical document or laboratory report. It can support the property actually documented, such as composition of the tested sample.
Related scientific relevance: a feeding study of a defined Hermetia illucens ingredient in the same or a related animal group. It explains potential and feeding context but is not a direct trial of the finished product.
